Out of these chestnut poles, 350,000 are rounded, the other half are splitted.
We regularly invest in production capacities and alsoto avoid heavy work to operators . We are very well equiped for big and heavy poles, one of our specialities.

The average cut & collect chestnut wood distance is 25km from coppice to factory.

We have a important stock of coppice nearby that will enable us to increase the production and we maintain a good Chestnut posts stock on site.
Chestnut is a sustainable, local, European wood.

The incredible advantages of chestnut wood.

Due to its very high tannin content chesnut poles have a long lifespan. Even for river banks and shore protection.
Because of this tannin, you will never see even a medieval chetnut frame with a cobwebs

This natural protection makes it an economical, intelligent and non-polluting wood for the 21st century. Unlike treated wood, which consumes a lot of energy during the chemical protection process (the wood has to be heated to evacuate the water, leaving room for the chemical molecules), chestnut only has to be harvested from local coppices, transported, cut to length and delivered to customers. That's why we're looking for export distributors to rationalise transport, the main carbon cost.

Another advantage of chestnut poles is that it does not pollute the surrounding soil. At the end of its life, you can use it as firewood. Treated wood, on the other hand, will require increasingly costly decontamination over the course of this century.
